Matina Aplaya

April Rose Seisa from the University of Mindanao utilized Matina Aplaya site in Davao City, Philippines. Her entry won 8th Place in this year’s competition.

The chosen location is a melting pot of social activities in the area. It is surrounded by living communities near natural bodies of water and areas of land.

Her design improves three aspects: social intimacy, freedom of movement, and localized network. Eco friendly materials were also largely considered in the site. Added to these are surrounding plants, green roof, and grasscrete to sustain green living.

Aesthetically created and custom for the selected site, the Ugnayan design is easy to the eye and complete with the necessary facilities.

Seisa’s design is awarded the 8th Place in this year’s competition.
