2015
OVERVIEW
ArchiNEXT: HCG Young Designers' Competition was launched in September 2014 and ended in April 2015. This nationwide design competition ran for a total of eight months, making its first milestone in the many years to come. At its outset, an overwhelming one hundred ten (110) participants in eighteen schools vied to be the first-ever ArchiNEXT Awardees, gaining recognition as young aspiring architects.
Its design theme was entitled Sustainable Community Comfort Area (SCCA) which aims to provide better sanitation in rural areas especially when power and water are scarce. During calamities such as typhoons, earthquakes, or volcanic eruptions, the poor sectors in the country are the most hard-hit and in these times of need, communities don't have access to basic necessities including hygiene and sanitation. The ArchiNEXT 2015 theme aims to address these problems.
