CONCEPT
The proposed project envisages that the buildings will inspire users of its efficiency both through function and form for economical, ecological, resilient and design-wise inclusive institutions. The Muyong Learning Institute’s new design will include extensive space planning to provide the students, staff, and faculty a variety of fully-furnished rooms that will allow the space to take on many different functions. The innovative irrigation system of Ifugao is also utilized in this project. The Muyong system, which serves as a hydrological system that irrigates the Rice Terraces in Ifugao, is applied on the roofs of the buildings. Muyong (forest or woodlot) is an ideal forest management strategy promoting forest development and watershed management which is subsequently incorporated on the three (3) shed roofs planted with filtering-quality foliage to extend filtration into three (3) periods before it lands on the ground and pass through the last process of sedimentation.
