CONCEPT
Located near the coastal area of the Barangay Quilitisan, Calatagan, Batangas, KILOS – “Moving towards responsible future”, the proposed Substance-Abuse Recovery Home will shelter the drug dependents in various purposes creating an opportunity to “move” again by healing themselves through urban isolation and Community Action-Involvement. They shall be transformed into more responsive and productive individuals as they enter the recovery home. The project targets to create a drug free society composed of valuable and active citizens through various vocational and educational skills offered in the project. “KILOS” addresses green and sustainable design by applying different technologies to utilize energy from various resources like rainwater and wind. The application of Bamboo- Sugarcane and Recycled Architecture, which is in trend, also reduces the cost of the construction phases.
