CONCEPT
“Dangat” is a cebuano term for “arrival”. It carries out the best term for the project because Paco railway station had been serving the people of Manila since 1915 with countless train arrivals and departures. Just like any other buildings and structures, the railway station reached the end of its service, partly demolished in 1966. The station used to have the distinct American Colonial Architecture, which says a lot about Philippine history, thus should be preserved or redeveloped to attain another use beneficial to the residents living near the site. Due to technological advancement within the span of time, adaptive reuse had already been accepted throughout the architecture worldwide and this might be a solution to preserve a building full of identity, full of history.
