CONCEPT
The concept tries to link to the rural context by adapting to the site and its surroundings. The project not only provided a hospital but also aquaponics as a way to compensate agricultural land and to maximize the fisheries as it is near the coastal area.
It adapted to the moving with the waters concept by providing aquaponics as well as amphibious architecture to its extended emergency facility, wherein the facility would float in case of flood or storm surge as the area can be prone to this. With this, the project aims to be of symbolic meaning to the people of Sultan Naga Dimaporo as a center for refuge, hope, and at the same time reflect their cultural identity. This project is guided by the philosophy of being in constant motion that reflects the design process as dynamic and straying away from the conventional. Furthermore, this envisions the province to be in a self-sustaining community while enriching rural life.
