CONCEPT
PINILI is a social space concept in Pili, the capital of Camarines Sur, designed to address the town’s lack of accessible areas for community interaction and cultural expression. Meaning “chosen” in Bicolano, PINILI embodies inclusion, connection, and belonging by transforming an underutilized lot into a multifunctional hub with shaded gardens, play zones, art installations, stalls, and iconic toilets. A centerpiece of the design is the ISKOLARIUM, a much-needed public library inspired by the organic form of the pili nut. It provides inviting reading areas, collaborative spaces, and venues for community events while promoting sustainable and eco-friendly architecture. Beyond filling social infrastructure gaps, PINILI honors Pili’s vibrant culture, creating a lasting legacy that fosters growth, inclusivity, cultural pride, and sustainability for future generations.
