ArchiNEXT 2017 Grand Winner is Borja of National University

Dreams do really come true with effort and perseverance! On April 28, 2017 at SMX Convention Center during CONEX 2017, HCG declares Marchie T. Borja of National University as ArchiNEXT 2017 Grand Winner.

Borja, receiving Php 100,000 cash prize and recognition of a lifetime, shares to 4,000 architects from all over the country and HCG special clients in attendance his utmost appreciation to the totality of HCG and its team. “Thank you for organizing and hosting this activity that encourages us to take on the challenge of showcasing our well-being and identity, as we journey to our path in being an architect”, Borja said.

Aside from Borja, Edward D. Sarco of Eulogio ‘Amang’ Rogdriguez Institute of Science and Technology and Mike John Dale F. Felix of Tarlac State University received Top 2 and Top 3 slots, respectively.

Furthermore, its Board of Architect-Judges agrees to confer the Best Presentation Award to the Grand Winner and Most Innovative Award to the Top 2 awardee. Meanwhile, Most Popular special award goes to Alison Mae S. Angeles of Tarlac State University and Most Participative School to Technological University of the Philippines- Quezon City.

ArchiNEXT also grants scholarship to deserving yet financially-challenged architecture students to nine (9) qualifiers. Each obtains financial-assistance of Php 30,000 from HCG.

This year’s theme is LIKHA: An Eco-Friendly Elementary School that must be eco-friendly, economical, resilient and design-wise, inclusive. Entry turn-out is 472, a 293% increase from last year.

ArchiNEXT: HCG Young Designers’ Competition, now on its 3rd year, is a CSR program of Hocheng Philippines Corporation, manufacturer of quality bathroom fixtures, empowering young designers towards sustainable nation building. It is in partnership with the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) and Council of Deans and Heads of Architecture Schools in the Philippines (CODHASP).
