Congratulations to the Magic 67 from the ArchiNEXT Preliminary Screening

From all over the Philippines, 472 architect aspirants challenged their limit and braved their way to a more rigid, and challenging ArchiNEXT2017: HCG Young Designers’ Competition.

Out of the 472 entries, the list was shortlisted into more than half in a preliminary screening held January 13 – February 15, 2017. This year, a longer process took giving the judges more time to pick only the best.

During the preliminary screening, entries were cross-examined by some of the country’s best architects from the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) namely:

• Ar. Lorelie De Viana – Council of Deans and Heads of Architecture Schools in the Philippines (CODHASP) President

• Ar. Richard Garcia – Visionarch Vice President

• Ar. Mike Tomeldan – PRC’s Outstanding Professional of the Year for Environmental Planning

• Ar. Joseph Ramon “Pippo” Carunungan – Principal Architect of Carunungan and Partners Co.

• Ar. Esperanza “Ching” Valencia – former Co-Chair, Competition on the Commission of Professional Practice of the United Architects of the Philippines and
• Ar. Mike Peña – Director for Convention Exhibits and International Conventions of the United Architects of the Philippines

The selected 67 architect aspirants will now move further to the Final screening which will be on Feb. 24, 2017.
