8th Place: KANDILI

8th Place: KANDILI

Simple yet sustainable – these are carefully considered in the project KANDILI by Hazel Maturan and John Patrick Ocampo from National University.

The proposed hospital and extended facility is located at Brgy. Poblacion East, Municipality of Sta. Ignacia. The design is inspired by hands holding a heart, that symbolizes empathy for the people.

The design follows modern brutalist architecture that exemplifies simplicity. The interior and exterior of the hospital promotes holistic recovery for the patients.

The extended emergency facility is a feasible design with and effective layout plan. The structure is also proposed to be made up from bagasse or sugarcane waste fiber, making it environmental friendly and sustainable.

The direct approach in the design made impact and this project is the 8th place winner for ArchiNEXT 2021.
