Top 5: BREAKTHROUGH

Literally a breakthrough project, this individual entry by Erljohn Agustin of Cavite State University – Indang Campus wowed the panel with its Top 5 worthy masterpiece while bagging the Most Innovative ward for the Extended Emergency Facility.

Seeing the overall concept, it exudes warmth in simplicity, characterizing the hospitable trait of Filipinos. Agustin implied his vision of making a hospital that feels like home.

The Hospital is located in Indang, Cavite, surrounded by populated areas of Cavite and accessible to various resources that can help in building emergency facilities.

Highlighting the Extended Emergency Facility, the judges were impressed by the structure and overall proposal of the facility. It perfectly balances being one with nature and going through recovery. Since there is a huge demand and requirement to build this facility quickly, the form is ideal. Each “block” is complete with individual sanitation areas, and the form allows enough ventilation which is needed for the facility. Healing plants also help patients give the calming vibe, for a holistic healing approach.

This is the only individual entry that is in the Top 5 of ArchiNEXT 2021.
